Birthday 2011

Birthday 2011...
Serene bought a voucher from Groupon (an online discounted voucher system) for the icing room (a new concept store opened by the Breadtalk group)
So after my morning class, I set off for 313@Somerset. After a very dizzy spiraling drive UP to the 6th floor carpark, I headed down to the basement 2 store.
To get started, we get to choose between vanilla or black forest flavours. I chose the latter. :) and the cake came with a basic layer of white icing. *note* it's only 6 inches!
The "DIY kit" includes a few bags of icing and a small bag of sugar flowers.
I had, in mind, a music theme for the cake and started off by drawing a keyboard on the side of the cake. The bag of chocolate icing came in handy! This took a while....
Then the top. .. first, draw the stave and the treble clef.
Then fill in the music notes.. and a border.
haha.. when I was finally done, was too excited and forgot to take a photo of the finished product!
The staff packed it up and I'd asked to bring back the tubes of icing in case i need to do some touchups.
Include candles and knife and we're ready to head home!
In the evening, took out the cake and realised that the pink letters are not as well defined. Sooooo... good thing i bought back the tubes of icing!!
Added more of the pink jelly-like icing on top of the pink icing.
Haha.. had to fit so many candles on such a tiny cake!
