景山公园

景山公园 - was originally an imperial garden. It is now a public park.

The last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Chongzhen, committed suicide by hanging himself here in 1644.
View of the hill from a nearby park, Beihai Park. Pavilions were built on top of the hill.
First pavilion as one ascends the hill.
Newly painted.

Final building on top of the hill.
The main purpose for climbing the hill.... panoramic view of the Forbidden City.
This used to be the compound for the imperial college which catered to the education of the imperial family and sons of affluent officials.

JingShan Park is a really nice place to stroll in. Very peaceful and lots of fresh air.
Close up of some pretty flowers.
