Roof of the World - Tibet

Tibet is located in the Himalayan mountain range. With an average elevation of 4,900 metres (16,000 ft), it is the highest region on Earth and is commonly referred to as the "Roof of the World."

On 15th Sept, my tour group took an Air China flight to Chengdu where we transit onto another flight to Lhasa, Tibet.

Aerial photo of Tibet.

Lhasa Airport. View of tarmac, aerobridge and tail of our plane. Lhasa, at an altitude of approximately 3,650 m (11,975 ft), is one of the highest cities in the world.

Lhasa Airport.

First stop.. A Buddha's carving on the side of a mountain.

A pond opposite the carving. Nice scenery.

Testing my new camera's ZOOM ability. Canon Ixus 860IS !!!!
