天安门

天安门 - Gate of Heavenly Peace.
First built during the Ming Dynasty in 1420, Tian'anmen is often referred to as the front entrance to the Forbidden City. However, the Meridian Gate (午门) is the first entrance to the Forbidden City proper, while Tiananmen was the entrance to the Imperial City, within which the Forbidden City was located.



Ticket price for the Tiananmen is 15Yuan. The other ticket 2Yuan is for storage of bag.

Behind Tiananmen is another gateway which will eventually lead to the 午门, gateway into the forbidden city.
View of Tiananmen Square. It was noon time. The harsh light is bad for taking photos. So none of the pictures of the Square turned out well.
